Father God, you know the deepness of the hurt I’ve been carrying around for so long. I’m filled with the bitterness, but I’m powerless to change it. I’m not even sure I want you to change it – bitterness carries its own kind of pleasure. I seethe. I want vengeance. I know this is wrong but I cannot change it. You are my only hope. I choose to surrender to you. I ask you to heal my wounded heart and set me free from this awful burden I’ve lived with so long. In Jesus’ Name I pray.
