Creation Shows Death …Then Life

I was musing on the regularity of the seasons and as I thought about it, it became obvious that God has put his life-and-death cycle as a picture in many instances of his creation.

Later I was preparing for bed one night and was a bit annoyed that I had to stop what I was doing in order to rest for 8 hours. And as I was sputtering, it occurred to me that this is another example of the life-and-death cycle. After the business of the day, our bodies demand that we lay down and become unconscious for several hours. I often wondered why sleep is a necessity imposed on us, a period of total lack of consciousness, and was asking why on earth God made it this way.

And then I saw it. We have the life-and-death cycle imposed on us as a daily reminder that death follows life. But …hours later, without any willingness on our part, we rise again. In the details of our nature, God shows us life, death, and then resurrection.
